Aziatic "The Meaning Of Excitement", raised on the sea shores
of the famous "Hopkins" Village, where Garifuna Culture transcends through
the atmosphere. The smell of fresh baked Casava bread and fried fish defines
the meaning of a tradition that the Garifuna people have embraced for ever.
From a distance the sound of drums with men and women singing, telling
stories of a life as the underdog, "The struggle that comes with being
Garifuna" but nothing could stop them from loving their culture and no
matter where they were, their hearts would be the same.
At a young age Vince Lewis, now known as Aziatic, would migrate to the US
of A alo ng with his family. From the little Mosquito Coast and tropical
climate of Belize, to the Big Apple. New York for five years would be
considered his home. Far from the celebrations filled with roots and
culture. By 1985 Vince Lewis was now a resident of Los Angeles California. A
place known for the sunshine, Hollywood, Gangsta's and a wild night life.
With his now nurtured talent, Aziatic would go on to meet and work with
Paula Abdul, Howie Rice, The Jacksons and others enjoying the adventures of
singing and touring Eastern Europe. This short live experience would become
the foundation of a legend in the making. From the late 80's to
the early
90's, a destined career as an R&B crooner had abruptly come to a stand
still. With an eye on the prize and an eye on self, Aziatic was pulled back
into the ground, deep within his roots and shoved out to represent the new
world order |
